Introducing Barney the Pug
Last September my wife and I adopted a six year old pug we named Barnabas (a.k.a. Barney) from a rescue in Youngstown Ohio. Barney originally came from a backyard breeder who surrendered him after he was no longer of any use. The rescue took him to the vet to be neutered with the plan for us to pick him up after his recovery from surgery. The idea was to give the him a clean break from his old life and start afresh.
Barney in is his lounge bed watching me at work
He’s still a bit skittish, having no human contact except to do his job. But he seems to like his new life being treated with love effection. In fact, I think we’re spoiling him.
Some of his firsts: feet on real grass, his own bed, treats, going for a walk, bones to gnaw, licking plates, and living with a cat (Fiona).
Note: The bed shown is NOT his real bed. That’s a bed I put in my office so he has a place to lounge. It was used by a previous dog we had, a yorkie, who was much smaller than Barney.
